The Conquest of Jade Mountain (Yu Shan - 玉山)

Taiwan's and South-East Asia's highest mountain proudly standing at 3,952 m.

At the start of the trek:

Up until this point, it was pretty easy. Most of the hikers choose to spend a night here and to go to the Main Peak early in the morning. It is a good idea, although the facilities are not so great but you need to take your time, at least to avoid high altitude sickness. I didn't stay here overnight. I decided to continue with the trek.
The terrain had become harder to hike and I was getting some high altitude sickness symptoms.











Winds are very strong at this altitude. This is known as a wind tunnel. In the past, few people were blown away to death so some protection was added:

As the clouds quickly started forming, it was time to go back as soon as possible.
